All is well at Barca – Ivan Rakitic

For a team said to be in disarray, a 4-0 bashing of an opposition like Deportivo La Coruna isn’t a bad result now is it? Despite the internal issues rocking the Barcelona camp, the Catalan giants were able to rally round to thrash their opponent on Sunday evening and Ivan Rakitic has highlighted this show of unity in the club as a sign of good things to come. News about the clash of interest between the club’s manager and Messi who is the most important player in the squad hit the roofs a couple of weeks ago when the Argentine was left out of the starting line-up that fell to a 1-0 defeat to a struggling Real Sociedad.

In the wake of these developments, the sack of the club’s sporting director, Andoni Zubizarreta followed by the resignation of his assistant, Carles Puyol plunged the club to unrest never before witnessed at the club but Rakitic has maintained that all that has befallen the club has made them even stronger. The player noted that even the man in the middle of the crisis, Lionel Messi churned out an awesome display resulting in his 22nd hat-trick in the Spanish La Liga.

The Barcelona official website quoted Rakitic to have stated that ‘We are all one big family’. The player claims that both the players and coaching staff are all after same thing which is the overall success of the team, he also believes that if the team sticks to this mentality over the next few outings, there is no doubt that they can wrestle the league’s top spot from their arch-rivals, Real Madrid.

The Croatian admitted that the team got a huge confidence boost from the 3-1 thrashing of Atletico Madrid last week and hopes that the team will keep up the tempo in order to achieve bigger things.
