Ancelotti defends Bale’s selfishness issues

After series of backlash on his selfishness from several angles, real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti has jumped to the defence of Gareth Bale stating that the former Tottenham man is still a fans favourite. Bale came under heavy criticisms in December when he chose to aim at goal instead of teeing up with Cristiano Ronaldo who was better placed than he was. As if that wasn’t enough, the current most expensive player in the world yet again ignored James Rodriguez’s poise to take aim and eventually blazed wide from a very close range. This action was met with dissatisfaction from a part of the home fans this weekend.

Despite the jeers and boos from the club supporters both in the stadium and on social media, the manager revealed that Bale will be under no pressure to change his style of play and further highlighted that at some point during the club’s 4-1 victory over Real Sociedad, the forward received huge applause from the fans.

About the fact that the Welshman might be a bit selfish when on the ball, Ancelotti believes that the player is doing all he can for the team. Also while fielding questions at a press conference on whether he could deploy Ronaldo in the centre and Bale on the flanks, the Madrid gaffer strongly stated that he doesn’t see that happening.

Carlo Ancelotti then went ahead to share his thoughts on the upcoming match against Sevilla, he assured the fans that the club will approach the game with no sign of levity indicating that he doesn’t have intensions of resting some of his more productive players because of this weekend’s city derby against the Athletic Club. The gaffer further stated that he will field about the same team that got the better of Real Sociedad last weekend when he faces both difficult opponents all within 4 days.
