Arsenal vs AS Monaco: Tips and prediction – 25.02.2015

By on February 24, 2015
Arsenal and AS Monaco will face each other Wednesday evening from 19:45 in the first leg of the last 16 round in Uefa Champions League. The hosts have first chance here, both on the sheet and at bookmakers.
The Gunners are coming after nine wins in a row at Emirates Stadium and they recorded four clean sheets in the last five home games. Arsene Wenger and his players are in a much better form than AS Monaco and we expect them to confirm it on the scoreboard too. The hosts will have some important missing players, like Debuchy, Diaby, Ramsey and Arteta, all injured. Ospina and Chamberlain are also in doubt for this duel.
AS Monaco struggled in the beginning of this month, recording three games in a row without a win, but their form seems to get better after the last two games, 3-1 against Rennes and 1-0 vs Nice. Monaco lost only once in the last three months when it comes about away matches, 0-1 against Guingamp two weeks ago. Toulalan is suspended, while Carvalho, Raggi and Bakayoko are all injured and will not travel to London.
Arsenal vs AS Monaco probable lineups:
Arsenal (4-2-3-1): Szczesny – Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal – Cazorla, Coquelin – Welbeck, Ozil, Sanchez – Giroud.
Monaco (4-2-3-1): Subasic – Fabinho, Abdennour, Wallace, Kurzawa – Kondogbia, Moutinho – Dirar, Silva, Carrasco – Berbatov.
Prediction: 1 @ 1.50
As we said, Arsenal are in an excellent form before this game, especially when it comes about home games. We expect them to get another victory here, the odds being acceptable in Bet365’s offer.
The best odds for Arsenal vs Monaco: 1.50 – 4.20 – 8.00
