Aston Villa vs Liverpool: Tips and prediction – 17.01.2015

By on January 17, 2015
Aston Villa and Liverpool will be face to face Saturday afternoon from 15:00 in the 22th fixture of Barclays Premier League. The cormorans are in pole-position at bookmakers, but nothing is excluded in a match like this one.

Aston Villa have not scored a goal in the last four fixtures and they have the worst attack in the league, with only 11 goals scored so far. The defence is one of the best, being their strongest point this campaign. With 22 points, the home side is on the 13th position, only three points ahead the relegation zone. Villa will be without Kozak and Vlaar injured, while Clark is suspended. Fabian Delph will try to impress Brendan Rodgers after the rumours that Liverpool want him.

Liverpool have lost just one of the last 16 league visits at Villa Park, in May 2011. It is very interesting that Balotelli managed to score only a hattrick in Premier League and that was against Villa, in December 2010. The cormorans are only on the 8th position right now, with 32 points and a 29-27 goal difference, being five points behind Top 4. Sturridge, Johnson, Suso and Flanagan are back at training, but their fitness is not 100%. Allen and Jones are injured, while Lallana and Gerrard are in doubt. Kolo Toure is unavailable too, being with his national team.

Aston Villa vs Liverpool echipe probabile:
Aston Villa (4-3-3): Guzan – Hutton, Okore, Baker, Cissokho – Westwood, Sanchez, Delph – Weimann, Benteke, Gil.
Liverpool (3-4-3): Mignolet – Can, Skrtel, Sakho – Markovic, Henderson, Lucas, Moreno – Sterling, Borini, Coutinho.

Prediction: 2/2 @ 1.53
Aston Villa have big problems in the attack, but their defence is an impressive one. Liverpool have not the best attack in the world anymore so we expect a tight game, with maximum two goals.
The best odds for Aston Villa vs Liverpool: 4.50 – 3.60 – 1.91
