Chelsea vs Liverpool: Tips and prediction – 27.01.2015

By on January 25, 2015
The most exciting game of this week will take place Tuesday evening from 19:45 at Stamford Bridge. There will take place the second leg of the League Cup semifinals between Chelsea and Liverpool. It was 1-1 last week and a draw will give us extra-time.
Chelsea are coming after a dissapointing result in FA Cup, being eliminated by Bradford City, 2-4 on this stadium after Mourinho’s side was two goals in front. Except that defeat, Chelsea won their last 12 home games in all competitions, scoring at least two goals in every game. We expect Mourinho to field a much better starting eleven than few days ago against Bradford, being a good opportunity for them to win the first trophy of the season.
Liverpool are coming here after a bad result too, 0-0 against Bolton Wanderers in FA Cup so there will be a replay. The cormorans are unbeaten in their last ten competitive games. They improved in the defence with Emre Can used as central back. We expect to see a 3-4-2-1 formation from Rodgers once again and Gerrard to start the game. Sturridge could be on the bench, considering what Rodgers told the press few days ago.
As we said, the first leg ended with a draw, 1-1 at Anfield Road. Chelsea won both meetings with Liverpool last season and they also won the match in Premier League this campaign, 2-1 away.
Prediction: Liverpool +1.5 AH @ 1.50
We expect a tight game between these two sides and we also expect to see Liverpool fighting for qualification with a good chance. We don’t see Chelsea winning very easy this game.
The best odds for Chelsea vs Liverpool: 1.57 – 3.80 – 6.50
