Chelsea vs Maribor: Tips and prediction – 21.10.2014

By on October 21, 2014
Stamford Bridge will host a very unbalanced game at first view this Tuesday. To be more precise, Chelsea will face Maribor in the third fixture of Uefa Champions League group stage at 19:45, UK Time.

The home side leads this group after the first two games, having four points out of six and not a very impressive goal difference, 2-1 right now. Mourinho and his players ticked a draw against Schalke, 1-1 here in London, and a victory away against Sporting Lisbon, 1-0 last round. The londoners are having some problems with the injuries, proof that their top scorer, Diego Costa, will miss the game. Schurrle, Mikel and Ramires are also on the injury list.

Maribor are coming here to do their best, but their mission will be a very difficult one without any doubts. They are unbeaten so far, drawing against Schalke and Sporting, 1-1 both times. At the moment they are sharing the second place of this group with Schalke, having the same numbers. Maribor have no injury concerns and there will be no missing players for them. Zahovic will start in the attack alongside Tavares, the former being in a very good form.

Chelsea vs Maribor probable lineups:
Chelsea (4-2-3-1): Cech – Azpilicueta, Cahill, Terry, Luis – Matic, Fabregas – Willian, Oscar, Hazard – Remy.
Maribor (4-4-2): Handanovic – Stojanovic, Arghus, Rajecvic, Viler – Vrsic, Filipovic, Mertelj, Sallalich – Zahovic, Tavares.

Prediction: 1/1 @ 1.50
There are no doubts about Chelsea’s superiority. We expect The Blues to control the whole game, both on the pitch and on the scoreboard. They are very good at home and their only option is victory here.
The best odds for Chelsea vs Maribor: 1.17 – 8.00 – 21.00
