England v Italy: Tips and prediction – 14.06.2014
By tipsterbets on June 13, 2014
Maybe the most interesting game of the first round in group stages at World Cup 2014 will be this one, between England and Italy, both teams fighting for a place in the last 16 alongside Uruguay and Costa Rica, the other two teams in this group. The match will start at 23:00 (London time).
England has the third chance in this group, after Uruguay and Italy. Gerrard and his team-mates managed to qualify at World Cup after a good qualifying campaign without a defeat. England ticked two wins and two draws in the 2014, scoring six goals and conceiding only two. Hodgson will play a 4-2-3-1 formation with Gerrard and Henderson as the two defensives midfielders, while Sturridge will be the main striker.
Hart
Johnson – Jagielka – Cahill – Baines
Henderson – Gerrard
Lallana – Welbeck – Rooney
Sturridge
Italy has the first chance when it comes to bookmakers, but the game will be very tight for sure. After a bad run with seven matches without victory, italians managed to win in the last game, 5-3 against Fluminense in a friendly match. Marco Verratti is doubtful and there is a small chance to see him in the starting eleven. We expect Balotelli and Cerci in attack, while Pirlo will drive the midfield from behind, doing what Gerrard does for english side.
Buffon
Abate – Barzagli – Chiellini – Sciglio
Marchisio – Pirlo – Rossi
Verratti
Cerci – Balotelli
Last time when these two teams were put face to face happened in a friendly match in 2012. England won that match from behind on his own ground, 2-1 after De Rossi opened the score for Italy.
Prediction: 1X @ 1.44 – Bet now!
Even if Italy has the bigger chance to win, we trust England squad, with very good players. Sturridge, Gerrard, Hederson and the rest of the players were in a good form in the last months so we expect them to get at least a draw in this game.
The best odds for England vs Italy: 3.00 – 3.00 – 2.80
