Everton v Aston Villa: Tips and prediction – 18.10.2014

By on October 16, 2014
Goodison Park will host a very interesting game this Saturday afternoon, starting at 15:00, UK Time. To be more precise, Everton will face Aston Villa, trying to win their first game at home.

Everton had a very bad start of season, being only a shadow of the team from the last campaign. The toffees mananged to win only one game in the first seven fixtures. With six points in their account and a 13-16 goal difference, Everton are only 17th in Premier League. Martinez will use a 4-2-3-1 formation, Lukaku being the main striker. Ross Barkley and John Stones will mis the game due to some injuries, while Mirallas, Oviedo, Coleman and McCarthy are all in doubt, being not 100% fit.

Aston Villa have impressed in the first four games of this season, winning ten points out of 12. Fabian Delph and his teammates are coming after three defeats at this game and they are on the 10th place at the moment. This is very bad, considering that one month ago they were on 3rd position. Villa will try to get one point here and they will field a 4-3-3 formation that could easily become a 4-5-1 formation.

Everton showed their superiority last season against Aston Villa, winning both games, 2-0 at Villa Park and 2-1 here, on Goodison Park.

Everton vs Aston Villa probable lineups:
Everton (4-2-3-1): Howard – Baines, Jagielka, Distin, Coleman – Barry, McCarthy – Osman, Naismith, McGeady – Lukaku.
Aston Villa (4-3-3): Guzan – Hutton, Senderos, Baker, Cissokho – Cleverley, Westwood, Delph – N’Zogbia, Benteke, Agbonlahor.

Prediction: 1 @ 1.53
The guests are in a very bad form at the moment, having some real problems in the attack. Everton have only option in this game and they must do everything they can to win the match.
The best odds for Everton vs Aston Villa: 1.53 – 3.80 – 6.50
