Iceland V Netherlands: Tips and prediction – 13.10.2014

By on October 13, 2014
One of the most interesting and exciting game of Group A in the Euro 2016 Qualifications will take place Monday evening at 19:45 in Iceland, Sigurdsson and his teammates facing Netherlands.
The home team showed a very good form and attitude in the first two games of these qualifications, leading the Group A right now. They ticked two clear victories, 3-0 against Turkey and the same results against Latvia few days ago. We expect a classic 4-4-2 formations fielded by Lagerback, as we saw in the last game against Latvia.
Netherlands had a bad start of this campaign, losing the first match, 1-2 against Czech Republic. Guus Hiddink side won against Kazakhstan last week, being on the third place right now. It is something normal for the away team to play a 4-3-3 formation, with Robben, van Persie and maybe Lens in the attack, while De Jong will haev the tasks of a defensive midfielder.
Iceland and Netherlands were face to face ten times before. The orange side won nine of those matches, while another one ended with a draw, 1-1 32 years ago.
Prediction: Under 3.5 goals @ 1.38
Iceland will not give up very easy and we expect a very tight game and a difficult mission for the dutch side. We chose to bet on maximum three goals in this match, the odds being acceptable.
The best odds for Iceland vs Netherlands: 6.00 – 4.00 – 1.65
