Laurent Blanc has stated that he no longer has any regard for the FIFA Ballon d’Or after two of his players, Thiago Silva and David Luiz were absent from the occasion were they should have been recognized for making the FIFPro Team of the Year 2014.

The Paris Saint-Germain boss expressed his disaffection of the award to reporters in France and also stated that his negative opinion of the awards does not end with the FIFA awards but also extends to the Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s Best Swedish Player trophy. He noted that such laurels are flattering and are also poorly placed in the football calendar. The manager believes that the dates for the awards usually affect the state of most clubs and added that despite the fact that he hasn’t discussed his feeling with the club’s president, he has a feeling that the club’s executive also shares his sentiments.

On the club’s upcoming fixture against Bordeaux in the Coupe de France, the manager assured the fans that the team will channel all their strength to emerge the champions of the competition despite other challenges in the French League, the Coupe de la Ligue and also the Champions League.

He was quoted to have said that PSG just like every other big club desires to win everything that is up for grabs but noted that achieving such a feat is very difficult. He however revealed that the management expects the team to win every match and also play very attractive style of football considering the quality of players that he has at his disposal.

About the negative reports about his tactics particularly because of PSG’s dip in form this term, Blanc insists that he doesn’t allow such to get to him as he doesn’t even read the newspapers but also promises that the team is on a steady rise.
