Liverpool vs Real Madrid: Tips and prediction – 22.10.2014

By on October 21, 2014
The most exciting game of Wednesday evening in Uefa Champions League will take place in Group B. Anfield Road will host it and Liverpool will face Real Madrid in the third round of group stage, starting at 19:45.
The Reds seem to be only a shadow of the last season’s team when they fought for the title in England. Gerrard & co are very affected by injuries right now, Daniel Sturridge being the most important missing player. Flanagan and Suso will miss the match too. Liverpool are coming after a lucky win in Premier League, 3-2 against QPR after the londoners scored two own goals. In UCL the cormorans are second right now, with three points, same as Basel, but with a better goal difference, 2-2.
Real Madrid are already thinking about El Clasico against Barcelona next weekend. Ancelotti said that he will be pleased with a point on Anfield Road and he will rest some players. Ramos will not be risked, while Bale, Jese and Coentrao are all injured and will miss this match and El Clasico too. The spanish team won both matches so far and they seem to don’t have any problems in winning the group.
Real Madrid didn’t manage to score a goal against Liverpool in three competitive matches so far. They lost the Champions Cup final in 1981 with 0-1 and in 2009 the were eliminated in the last 16 round, 0-5 on aggregate.
