Liverpool vs Sunderland: Tips and prediction – 06.12.2014

By on December 4, 2014
Anfield Road will host one of the most interesting games of the 14th fixture in Premier League, with Liverpool facing Sunderland. The game is scheduled Saturday afternoon from 15:00 (UK Time).
Liverpool are getting better, proof that they are coming after two victories in the last two league matches. The runners-up of the last season are now on the 8th place, with 20 points and a 19-19 goal difference, five points behind Top 4. Liverpool will have a very difficult game to play next Tuesday, against FC Basel and they need a victory to qualify in the last 16 round of UCL. Sturridge, Balotelli, Suso and Flanagan are still injured, while Gerrard will probably be rested.
Sunderland are without victory in the last four league games. They ticked three draws and one defeat, being on the 14th position at the moment. The Black Cats are only two points ahead of the relegation zone so they need a good result at Anfield Road. Sunderland will have four missing players, all injured. These four are Patrick van Aanholt, Giaccherini, Billy Jones and Adam Johnson.
Liverpool won all three meetings with Sunderland since 2013, 3-0 and 2-1 here, and 3-1 away. Sunderland are without victory on this stadium in the last 15 years.
Liverpool vs Sunderland probable lineups:
Liverpool (4-2-3-1): Mignolet – Johnson, Skrtel, Toure, Moreno – Leiva, Henderson – Lallana, Allen, Sterling – Lambert.
Sunderland (4-1-4-1): Pantilimon – Vergini, O’Shea, Brown, Reveillere – Cattermole – Wickham, Larsson, Rodwell, Buckley – Fletcher.
Prediction: 1 @ 1.44
Liverpool improved their form in the last couple of weeks and we expect this to continue. Sunderland are in a bad form so we chose to bet on three points for Rodgers’s team.
The best odds for Liverpool vs Sunderland: 1.44 – 4.50 – 6.50
