Luis Enrique is the boss – Pique

If one had to pick the most influential person at Barcelona F.C, most people would be inclined to pick Lionel Messi, right? Of course yes. In fact, his teammate, Gerard Pique thinks he has a lot of clout at the Catalans but insisted that Luis Enrique remains the boss at the club. The centre-back who had a brief stint at Manchester United stated that the Argentine forward is not the one calling the shots at the club and also jumped in the defence of Brazilian prodigy, Neymar who has come under heavy criticisms lately.

Pique’s opinion was borne out of the fact that several news sources have indicated that the relationship between, Barca boss, Enrique and the 4 time Ballon d’Or winner is broken beyond repair after both parties had an intense fall-out last month. Despite the club trying to mask the damaging occurrence, defender, Jeremy confirmed that Messi and Enrique both had a serious outburst on the training ground.

Just like his colleague Jeremy, Pique also attested to the fact that there was a disagreement but promptly added that the manager clearly remains in charge of the team. While speaking to a Spanish radio programme El Partido de las 12, the reliable Spain defender stated that Enrique is the boss and even though Lionel has a lot of influence in the dressing room, the buck still ends on Luis Enrique’s table.

He admitted that there was a squat between both player and manager but continued that it wasn’t really a special thing seeing as there is always some small misunderstandings within every team. Pique also took the time to talk about his own future at the club revealing that he would like to see out the remaining years of his footballing career at the Catalan club. The 28-year-old enjoys playing soccer and hopes that he would continue playing for another six years.
