Lyon v Lille: Tips and prediction – 05.10.2014

By on October 5, 2014
Sunday afternoon from 16:00 we will probably see a very tight game between Olympique Lyon and Lille, the match being part of the 9th fixture of France Ligue 1. It is hard to say which team has the first chance, but OL start in pole-position at bookmakers.

The home side didn’t impress too much so far, considering that they had a bad start. They are getting better, ticking two victories and two draws in the last four Ligue 1 games. With only 11 points out of 24, Lyon are only on the 10th place right now. Fofana, Grenier and Benzia will miss this game due to some injuries, while Dabo is in doubt.

Lille have the strongest defence in the french football, proof that after eight games they conceded only two goals. Origi and his teammates have 15 points before this match and they are on the third place in France, seven points behind the leaders from Marseille, but with this match in hand. Lille will be without Lopes, Delaplace, Mavuba and Martin, all injured, while Mendes, Kjaer and Souare are in doubt, so there could be some problems for the away side.

Both games in the last season ended without any goals. Lyon are without victory against Lille in the last four matches, their last won being in March 2012.

Lyon vs Lille probable lineups:
Lyon (4-3-1-2): Lopes – Jallet, Kone, Umtiti, Bedimo – Ferri, Gonalons, Tolisso – Fekir – Lacazette, N’Jie.
Lille (4-2-3-1): Enyeama – Beria, Rozehnal, Basa, Sidibe – Gueye, Balmont – Corchia, Rodelin, Origi – Frey.

Prediction: Under 2.5 goals @ 1.53
The odds are not too big for this bet, considering that this will probably be a very tight game. We expect maximum two goals in a game like this, after these two teams ended 0-0 in both last season games.
The best odds for Lyon vs Lille: 2.00 – 3.10 – 4.20
