Manchester United V Swansea: Tips and prediction – 16.08.2014

By on August 17, 2014
Manchester United and Swansea City will be face to face in the opening game of Premier League 2014/2015. The match will start at 12:45 and United have the first chance at bookmakers right now.

The home side is coming after a very good summer when it comes about the results. They won all the six friendly games and are ready to fight again for the title in Premier League. We expect Louis Van Gaal to field a 3-4-1-2 formation, as he used to do at Netherlands. Rooney and Hernandez are anounnced in the attack, with van Persie in doubt. Carrick and Shaw are injured and will miss the game.

Swansea City is a strong mid-table team and surely they will fight until the end. More than that, the away side have lost only one time in the last three away games against Manchester United. They will not have Leon Britton and Marvin Emnes, both injured. They will play a 4-2-3-1 formation with Shelvey and Canas controlling the midfield, while Bony will be the main striker.

Manchester United probable lineup:
De Gea
Smalling – Evans – Jones
Valencia – Fletcher – Herrera – Young
Mata
Rooney – Hernandez

Swansea probable lineup:
Fabianski
Rangel – Williams – Amat – Taylor
Shelvey – Canas
Dyer – Sigurdsson – Montero
Bony

These two teams were face to face three times last season. United won the both games in Premier League, while Swansea won the match in FA Cup, 2-1 at Old Trafford.

Prediction: 1 @ 1.35
We chose to bet on Manchester United’s victory, the home side being the better team at first view, in a good form, while Swansea are coming after a difficult summer when it comes about the results in friendlies.
The best odds for Man United vs Swansea: 1.35 – 5.00 – 9.00
