No advice for Suarez – Neymar

By on January 28, 2015

Brazilian forward, Neymar has stated that assisting fellow club mate Luis Suarez find his rhythm at Barcelona doesn’t fall under his purview. Neymar disclosed this on the back of wide spread criticisms facing the Uruguayan for his poor start to life at the Catalan. Since his switch from Liverpool last summer, Luis Suarez has been faced with terrible circumstances both off and on the pitch.

At first he had to sit out for 3 months to serve the ban placed on him by FIFA for biting an Italian player at the World Cup and since he eventually made his first appearance for the Camp Nou based outfit amidst pomp and pageantry, he continually struggled to stamp his feet in a team where Messi and Neymar jointly dictate the pace.

The Uruguayan forward has only scored two goals in his 11 La Liga games for his Spanish employers and tougher times came when manager, Luis Enrique dropped him from the starting line up in Barcelona’s 6-0 victory over lowly placed Elche. However, Neymar noted that despite suffering similar fate back in the 2013/2014 season when he arrived at the club, it is not his place to advice the former Liverpool striker.

While fielding questions from reporters, the Brazilian stated that Luis Suarez is older and more experienced than he is and as such he will not be giving him any advice, he continued that with the experience that the Uruguayan has gained from his days at Ajax and Liverpool, the responsibility of advice should be the other way round.

However, Neymar hailed Suarez for his goals, passes and overall contribution to the team which has helped them so far this season noting that with Lionel Messi, they constitute that best attacking trio in the world considering the level of problems that they create for opposing defenders.
