Pedro unsure of Barca future

By on February 6, 2015

Barcelona forward, Pedro has revealed that despite the fact that he is enjoying his stay at the Nou Camp, he is unsure of what the future holds in store for him beyond this season. This statement might shock most people seeing as the striker’s contract ties him to the club until the summer of 2016 but this is football where the unexpected can happen at a moment’s notice.

The Spaniard has spent about 11 years at the Catalans and within that period has won two Champions League medals and four La Liga titles among others. Despite his long service, he is yet to claim for himself a solid spot in Luis Enrique’s starting line-up which is very evident in the fact that exactly half of the 20 games he has featured in for the club so far this season has been a call from the bench. So the player’s frustration is understandable because of his inadequate first team action.

While fielding questions from reporters, Pedro stated that he is not sure of a future beyond this current season with Barcelona but quickly added that he is very happy at the club although one could never know what opportunities might come up tomorrow. He claims to be calm and focused on the club till the end of the season when he will be able to objectively weigh his options before deciding his next step of action.

The striker also noted that the lack of continuity in his game time is really frustrating and greatly complicates his progress. He however added that he tries to contribute his own quota to the overall success of the team as much as he can.

On the criticisms that Luis Suarez currently faces, Pedro insists that the former Liverpool man remains motivated, he also believes that with time, the Uruguayan will gather momentum and score many goals for the club.
