Portugal v Ireland: Tips and prediction – 11.06.2014

By on June 9, 2014
At the first hour of Wednesday, 00:00 (UK time), Portugal and Ireland will face each other in the last friendly match for Lusitania side before the World Cups starts, on June 12.

Portugal comes after five good results, with four victories and one draw. They managed to qualify to Brazil after they eliminated Sweden in play-off in November. This year Ronaldo & co won two out of three games and they drew against Greece with no goals. Ronaldo is doubtful and probably he will no be risked in this match.

Ireland is in a totally different situation, coming after five games in a row without winning. The british side played four matches in 2014, losing the first two of them and after that they drew 0-0 against Italy and 1-1 against Costa Rica, both teams being at World Cup. Ireland is without victory abroad since October 2012 when the irish side defeated Faroe Islands with 4-1.

Portugal and Ireland have met the last time in 2005, when Ireland managed to win that mathc against Luis Figo & co with 1-0 at home, in a friendly match too.
