PSG’s Januzaj bid refused by Man Utd

Manchester United have blocked a move made by French big spenders, Paris Saint-Germain for teenage sensational, Adnan Januzaj. The Belgian came to lime light under erstwhile manager, David Moyes at a time when Manchester United were at their worst last term. The Red Devils will forever be grateful for Adnan’s daring runs at opposition defenders to create quite a number of chances for the team.

PSG were very keen on hiring the services of Januzaj who has fallen further down the pecking order under Louis van Gaal. The Dutch tactician in fact stated earlier this season that the presence of more established stars like Juan Mata, Maroaune Fellani and Angel Di Maria will drastically reduce the game time available to the Belgian and this revelation prompted speculations that the club might consider a loan offer for the creative teenager.

However, the player’s agent has revealed that Louis van Gaal might have other ideas seeing as he recently declined on the French club’s offer. In October 2013, the Belgian while still a regular under Moyes, committed to a five year contract at the Old Trafford but has had to endure lesser game time having only featured 13 times for the team this season with most of them being cameo appearances.

While speaking with Foot Mercato, Januzaj’s agent stated that PSG have signalled interest in the winger and are even ready to sign a check this January but having established interest to Manchester United directly, the club refused to honour the request. The agent believes that Januzaj has a special place in Van Gaal’s plans for the club especially as the manager has announced that the Belgian will not be leaving either on temporary or permanent basis this year.

Manchester United are already swallowing a bitter pill for their decision to let Paul Pogba leave at the time he did and will be wary of making same mistake twice.
