Rennes v PSG: Tips and prediction – 13.09.2014

By on September 12, 2014
Rennes and PSG will be face to face in the first match of France Ligue 1 this Saturday from 16:00. It will be a very interesting game and a “must win” for the away side.

Rennes will not give up so easy, considering that they won the last match against PSG. The home team is in a very good form, with two victories and one draw in the last three rounds, so they are on 5th place right now in Ligue 1. It is very possible to see a 4-3-3 formation again from Rennes, with Toivonen being the main striker. They will not have Christian Brulls, injured, while Benjamin Andre is in doubt.

PSG are a much stronger squad at first view, altough they lost their previous game against Rennes, 1-2 at home. The away team is unbeaten in the first four fixtures, ticking two wins and two draws. With eight points and the best goal difference in Ligue 1 (9-2), PSG are on the second position. They will probably field a 4-3-3 formation, Ibrahimovic partnering Moura and Pastore in the attack. PSG will be without Thiago Silva, Rabiot and Aurier, all injured. More than that David Luiz and Lavezzi are not 100% fit and probably will miss the game too.

Rennes probable lineup:
Costil
Danze – Mexer – Armand – M’Bengue
Pajot – Fernandes – Doucoure
Grosicki – Toivonen – Henrique

PSG probabile lineup
Sirigu
Wiel – Marquinhos – Camara – Maxwell
Verratti – Motta – Matuidi
Moura – Ibrahimovic – Pastore

PSG managed to win the last two games on this stadium, 2-0 in April 2013 and 3-1 in December 2013. The last victory for Rennes against PSG in front of their own fans happened more than three years ago.

Prediction: 2 @ 1.50
We chose to bet on PSG victory in this game being a much better team at first view and also in a good form, as we said. They won the last two games on this stadium and the odds are very attractive right now.
The best odds for Rennes vs PSG: 7.00 – 4.00 – 1.50
