Sunderland vs Liverpool: Tips and prediction – 10.01.2014

By on January 10, 2015
Saturday from 12:45 (UK Time) will take place the opening game of the 21th fixture in Barclays Premier League. Sunderland and Liverpool will be the two protagonists in a very important game for both sides.
Sunderland are “the champions of draws” until now, with no fewer than 11 draws in 20 fixtures. The Black Cats won only three games this campaign and there is no other team with less wins right now. The home side is on the 14th position, with 20 points and a 18-30 goal difference, having one of the worst defences in the league. Sunderland will be without Rodwell, injured, while Coates is loaned from Liverpool so he is ineligible.
Liverpool are coming after four league games without defeat so their form increased in the last couple of weeks. The cormorans are still far away from the Top 4. To be more precise, Rodgers and his players are only on the 8th place in Premier League, with 29 points, seven less than Southampton (4th position). Sturridge, Johnson, Lallana and Allen are injured, while Suso and Flanagan are not 100% fit. Kolo Toure is with his national football team at the African Cup of Nations.
Sunderland vs Liverpool probable lineups:
Sunderland (4-1-4-1): Pantilimon – Vergini, O’Shea, Brown, Jones – Bridcutt – Johnson, Gomez, Larsson, Wickham – Fletcher.
Liverpool (3-4-3): Mignolet – Can, Skrtel, Sakho – Henderson, Gerrard, Leiva, Moreno – Markovic, Sterling, Coutinho.
Prediction: Under 3.0 goals AH @ 1.48
We expect a tight game, with Sunderland trying to get at least a draw here. Liverpool are no in their best attacking form so we expect a game with maximum two goals. If we will see three, our money will be refunded.
The best odds for Sunderland vs Liverpool: 4.50 – 3.60 – 1.91
